To represent Angel Oak Creative and its clients with the utmost integrity across all website disciplines (focused primarily, but not exclusively, on front-end and back-end development); to oversee Angel Oak Creative’s website service offerings involving a mastery of mid-level development activities including, but not limited to, developing WordPress themes and child themes, using page builders (i.e. Divi and WP Bakery), managing server environments and employing version control.

Compensation: $55 – $60k (total compensation package: $70 – $75k)


Job Specifications

WordPress Developer (primary responsibilities)

  • Full-Stack WordPress Competencies: see website projects from conception to completion using the WordPress CMS in various server environments (i.e. Flywheel and DigitalOcean)
  • WordPress Themes and Plugins: create child themes and custom plugins as needed to meet project requirements using Git workflows
  • Extensible Development: develop secure and mobile-first websites, microsites and landing pages
  • Platform Agnosticism: as needed, develop websites using a variety of content management systems like WordPress, Squarespace and Wix
  • Staging Environments: create local and online server development environments
    Website Security: employ secure coding practices and deploy effective security measures for client sites
  • UI Design: as capacity allows, support the Creative Department in the production of wireframes, website assets and iconography
  • Website Support: diagnose website support requests and make ongoing front-end and back-end updates to client sites
  • Hosting and Security: oversee Angel Oak Creative’s hosting and security offerings to clients by proactively managing company’s relationship with Flywheel
  • Technical Consultation: proactively guide clients and Angel Oak Creative’s team through website solutions, integrations and security measures
  • Research and Development: proactively monitor/assess development trends to provide recommendations that capitalize on opportunities for clients and Angel Oak Creative
  • Documentation: continually document standard operating procedures to foster efficient development processes

WordPress Developer (secondary responsibilities)

  • Brand Integrity: uphold the integrity of client visual identities (brand guidelines)
  • Client Relations: uphold highest standard of client relations (foster relationships)
  • Account Execution: execute website deliverables under direction of account lead and/or own projects from conception to completion
  • Project Management: facilitate communication and prioritization of client work and deadlines to ensure quality deliverables and high efficiency
  • Account Growth and Scoping: assist new business development team and client services team in accurately identifying and scoping prospective website projects

WordPress Developer (preferred responsibilities; not required)

  • 3+ years of WordPress development experience in agency or corporate environment (or equivalent level of experience as demonstrated by resume/portfolio)
  • Bachelor’s degree (computer science, programming, internet technology, graphic design, or a related field), certificate from development bootcamp, or equivalent level of professional experience as demonstrated by current resume/portfolio
  • Demonstrated nonprofit investment and/or passion preferred
