SHORT-FORM CONTENT WINS
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that lately short-form content has dominated the social media world. (Don’t worry, I promise this isn’t a ploy to get your organization on TikTok!)
What do I mean by short-form you ask? It’s simple: you can consume it quickly. And why is it taking over the social media world? Because research shows that the average attention span for us humans is now a whopping eight seconds.

So back to not convincing you to get a TikTok. There are two quick ways to incorporate short-form content into your regular digital marketing, and these tactics are sure to increase your reach and engagement: keep it simple + then reel in support.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
All content usually falls into one of four categories: educational, engaging, entertaining or empowering. And great content falls into more than one. If you can check more than one category by communicating with the four Cs in less than eight seconds, you have a huge win on your hands.
Some sayings will always ring true: it’s all about quality over quantity. So jump on the opportunity to max out the potential of social media without overdoing it. Investing time and planning to execute content that’s easily and quickly consumed will move the needle on engagement more than several surface-level posts.
REEL IN SUPPORT (video content)
The use of video is an efficient way to grab your audience’s attention and keep it (for all eight seconds of glory) to engage your followers with your mission. And it’s easy since many social media platforms have developed tools for you to create engaging short-form content where you already are.
Whether it’s a reel (on your feed) or a story (on your page for 24 hours), you can create short-form videos on both Facebook and Instagram. And Instagram has an extra feature called a “story highlight” to keep that story on your homepage indefinitely!
