We are boldly declaring 2020 the Year of Encouragement!

We get it. 2020 has been a challenging year thus far. And while we acknowledge the issues we’re facing as a community, a nation and a world are real, we think there’s space for joyous celebration too – especially within the nonprofit community, our champions of encouragement. So, we encourage you to read, watch and pass on these stories of local encouragement.

Rashawn’s high school experience was certainly not that of a typical high schooler – but Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina still worked their magic and gave him the selfless wish he requested. This powerful story reminds us that hope is a necessary ingredient of joy, unity, healing and encouragement. Hope is NOT optional.
