I once had a mattress that caved in the middle and became shaped like a taco. Real tacos are great, but I hate bed tacos. Real tacos bring delight to an otherwise neglected belly. But bed tacos roll you from the edge of your bed into the center. It’s a black hole of back pain and annoyed spouses. So how do you solve the problem of bed tacos?
My wife and I needed a cozy, firm bed with good support. So we turned to Tuft & Needle for some help. I remember it like it was yesterday. The box was massive and our anticipation even bigger. After lugging the mattress into our living room, we opened the box with great delight.
The bed was beautifully engineered with branded labels and bold colors. They even included simple care instructions with a personal Tuft & Needle touch. Best of all, we had a much better night’s rest thanks to our new mattress.
In all, our brand experience was great, and it is that experience that drives me to tell others about their products. What about your nonprofit? How can you turn a “bed taco” into an opportunity for your brand to shine?
Why engaging websites are critical for nonprofit marketing:
To answer this question, we’ll first need to define nonprofit marketing. The American Marketing Association defines marketing as “the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.”
Immediately we discover that marketing is a multifaceted tool for your organization. It is not just advertising, but a whole swath of resources coming together to provide something of value to stakeholders. In other words, marketing is presenting as valuable what you perceive to be valuable. Your website can and should do just that.
Building an engaging website is at the heart of good nonprofit marketing. For your nonprofit to solve problems, you’ll need to identify products and services that bring value to your stakeholders. And during this discovery process, you’ll then need to find creative ways to present these value offerings. One of the best ways to present value to your audience is through a secure and superb website. Here are three quick reasons why having an engaging and secure website matters:
1. Propagation
Let’s face it. You have big dreams and momentous goals for your nonprofit. To make these desires a reality, you’ll need a tool that brings people into your work, whether it’s through volunteering, giving or learning. A secure, appealing website helps propagate your message across the globe and attract dedicated supporters.
2. Funding
To fund your nonprofit’s vision, it’s important to make giving easy. If I gave you the option to either take a shoebox full of cash or a swimming pool full of cash, which would you choose? You’d go swimming of course! A secure website opens your funding opportunities to a world full of generous donors. If people want to give to your cause, your website should make it very easy.
3. Adaptation
Your website is a tool for crisis management that allows you to pivot quickly. Adapting to change garners trust and helps to rally supporters. With a secure website, global crises like COVID-19 can be handled swiftly and safely. Through your website, you can quickly update your supporters as situations evolve, provide virtual giving options and attract volunteers when the options seem otherwise limited.
As Angel Oak Creative’s new web developer, it’s my priority to build you a secure, engaging website that spreads your message globally, opens up your funding opportunities and allows you to adapt in our changing world. Together, we can solve problems and create exciting customer journeys.
So what do you say? I’d love to get to know you and start the conversation about how we can take your website to the next level! Reach out to us here, and let’s talk tacos!
