Mission Triangle
My name is Daniel Alexander, and I’m the Area Director for Mission Triangle. I’ve been there for 11 months.
Now in my first year on staff with Mission Triangle… there are three nonprofits that I was working with where I said the best course of action for you is to actually just slow down your programming and focus on your organization.
Actually call a timeout, halftime, whatever you want to call it, and go inside the organization and work – not just through it to build a better base and a better foundation for the organization.
PostScript Outreach has done a great job with it, and Safe Families for Children also has done a great job with it, and there are a couple others that are still in that process of figuring out what do.
Do they need to shift? Do they need to merge with somebody else? Do they need to take other actions for the future of their organization or for the health of their leaders, or for the health of the community? What’s the best bet?
It’s exciting when they’re willing to slow down enough to be introspective to ask the hard questions and make sure that they have the opportunity to grow and to figure those things out as they go. Giving themselves grace to mess up but also to continue to serve because we need we need their investment.
